The Taking Shape x Elverina Johnson collection has arrived! A highly respected Gungganji Gurugulu woman from Yarrabah in Far North Queensland, Elverina is one of the Nation’s most recognisable and accomplished artists. Enriching the fabrications with Elverina’s bold prints and traditional storytelling, invites the wearer to engage with culture and country. These two original designs were hand painted by Elverina, both exclusive to Taking Shape. Her vision was then interpreted by the Taking Shape designers and brought to life in this stunning collection.

The Buyal Bunya Knit Duster from our TS collections is designed to make a statement every time you wear it! Mixing bright and bold colours in a unique, traditional digital print, this duster is great to dress up those plain outfits. This plus-size duster features front and back tucks, hot fix detail, 3/4 sleeves, functional button front, and side splits to allow for easy movement.

Very Colourful

My Buyal Bunya Knit Duster has just arrived, it is very colourful! I have had my eye on this for a while now, the turquoise is a little darker in colour than my Dirringhi Linen Suit Pants, but still coordinates well. I don't usually go for polyester knit, but this is lightweight and has netting cuffs and bottom trim, with a small amount of sparkle on the bodice pleats. Will work open as a duster and buttoned up as a tunic top (the buttons are close enough together that they do not gape). I ordered a size M (usually a 16 to 18). Fabric was printed after it has been pleated so there are some white unprinted sections, I am not usually a fan of this but it hardly notices when on as the summery pattern is so colourful and eye catching.

Bought this beautiful piece for a garden wedding I have to go to, had so many complements, was told it was Eye catching with the colours and the little bit of bling. Very comfortable to wear and I felt amazing in it, I will get lots of wear out of this beautiful piece.

Impresses with the lightness of this Duster and the patterns are dreamy and colourful. I can put many different tanks under to get a more casual loo and team it with denim, black or white. Really great collaboration - more more more

To be honest, at first I wasn't too keen on the feel of the fabric (100% polyester) but that thought disappeared the moment I put it on. It's floaty without being as sheer as some of TS14's summer dusters, and can be layered for year-round wear. The sparkles on the bodice add a touch of shimmery glam. I like how this piece connects the Bunya Yaji-l design with the Dirringhi design - creating a third story. Congratulations on your stunning designs and this exciting collaboration, Elverina Johnson!
