Since 2009, we've donated thousands of pieces of clothing through our charitable giving program, making a tangible difference in the lives of so many women.

We have a long and proud association with FareShare.
This incredible organisation rescues quality food from supermarkets, farmers and businesses to cook nutritious meals for those in need.
Through our staff volunteering and fundraising efforts, we aim to make a positive difference in our community by supporting FareShare in its essential work.
Sustainability & Modern slavery
At Taking Shape, we have and will continue to operate in a way that is responsible towards our people and our planet.
We recognise the important role that we play in the fashion industry and are committed to making a difference.
This commitment includes initiatives such as:
- Partnering with traceable, earth-friendly fibres
- Regularly working closely with our manufacturers, auditing factories for social compliance and safety
- Thoughtfully repurposing off-cut materials, making them into crafted accessories, bags and new products
- Donating all surplus fabrics, swatches and textiles to local schools and kindergartens when they're no longer needed
- Developing ethical and sustainable products in collaboration with suppliers. Together, we focus on long-term partnerships and continual improvement for social and environmental practices.
Sustainable Cotton
We use three main types of cotton across Taking Shape to minimise our carbon footprint.
Australian Cotton
We're a licensed partner of Cotton Australia, supporting responsible, traceable cotton farming and production.
Australian cotton is high-quality, soft and strong with natural long fibres. It's grown using water-efficient and environmentally friendly methods.
Good Earth Cotton®
Independently certified as climate-positive, we're a proud partner of this cotton that is produced using regenerative farming methods.
This cotton supports biodiversity, water conservation, soil health, and renewable energy with FibreTrace® to track its journey.
Organic Cotton
Certified organic cotton is grown without synthetic pesticides, fertilisers or genetically modified seeds. It's a safer and environmentally conscious supply chain. It means the garments are gentle on the skin, naturally breathable, and limit harmful chemicals.
Natural Bamboo
Bamboo is a popular plant in Asia, and it's also known for its sustainability benefits.
Bamboo has rapid regeneration, making it easier to grow and reducing the amount of water it requires.
In addition, it does not need pesticides. Bamboo is processed into pulp and spun into fine, silky fibres.
The fabric known as Natural Bamboo Viscose is ultra-soft and smooth, making it lightweight and providing great moisture-wicking properties.
Recycling plastic bottles into garments
We offer new fabric blends to improve the quality and impact of our clothes.
Bamboo Viscose Recycled Polyester uses a 50:50 split of natural bamboo with recycled polyester.
Around five bottles go into every metre of fabric. Together, the combination means clothing that's breathable, soft, and durable, and that maintains its shape.
Why do we call it "Plus Size"?
We know our loyal tribe call us by name, Taking Shape.
But we also know that when many women are looking for clothes that fit, the words they type into the search bar are "plus size clothing".
We personally prefer "size inclusive fashion", "curve clothing" and "sizes for everybody".
So why do we use it?
Taking Shape needs to be found by the women who need us most.
No matter what you call it, our mission remains the same; we believe in creating fashion for women that makes them look and feel fabulous.
