Sell pre-loved Taking Shape clothes with Authentified

Authentified works with us and other fashion brands to make it easier to resell your pre-loved clothing.

Using the information we already hold about the product, such as the name, image and description, you can easily list your items without the worry of having to make up the details yourself.

You'll need to take at least three photos (front, back and sewn-in tag) of the pre-loved Taking Shape clothes. Make sure to share any wear or tear, so your listing is accurate.

Authentified will suggest a start price and a minimum price. You can agree to that or set the price yourself.

Yes, you can resell the item if it's in good to excellent condition.

Be sure to include any details about general wear and tear, e.g., missing buttons, marks, etc.

If the item has holes, stains or heavy wear, we suggest you recycle the clothing elsewhere.

Authentified acts as an agent for your wardrobe, so you don't have to do it all yourself. With our partnership, we've given Authentified the original product information and imagery to help create your listing and achieve the best possible result.

Authentified takes a 13.5% commission on the total order value. That includes the item purchase price and the shipping collected from the buyer. If your item doesn't sell, you won't be charged a fee.

So, you won't need to pay for delivery. You will need to package it.

No, Authentified takes a shipping fee from the buyer and gets a postage label for you. When your item sells, you'll be asked to package it, attach the label and drop it off at your nearest Australia Post location.

For packaging, we suggest reusing satchels. Or buy a new one at Australia Post or Officeworks; we won't cover that cost.

Once your account with Authentified is set up, you can list any item from your wardrobe, taking at least three current-condition photos. Only items from Taking Shape in your online order history will have original product information and imagery added for you.

Authentified will recommend a start price and a minimum price based on the item's details, current condition and comparable second-hand items.

You can change either price. For each week your item is listed, Authentified will apply a discount to help it sell, but it will never be sold for less than your minimum price.

You'll be asked to add your bank details so you can be paid once you send the item. As soon as you scan the postage label at Australia Post, Authentified will pay you.

It may take a few business days to arrive based on your bank.

You'll be paid if the item sells, minus 13.5% commission.

Here's how that looks on a $100 sale:

• Your item sold for: $90.00
• Buyer paid shipping: $10.00
• Total order value: $100.00
• Authentified gets: $13.50
• Postage label: $10.00
• You earn: $76.50

After 30 days, if no one buys your item, Authentified will email you.

You'll have the choice to:

• Relist your item at the same or a lower price
• Donate the item to the Salvos (Authentified covers the delivery cost)
• Cancel the listing.

If we can't sell the item, you won't be charged a fee.

We list the item with our photos. But you need to add at least three more photos (front, back and sewn-in tag) so the buyer can see the item's current condition.

If the item has wear and tear, be sure to photograph it too.

Here are a few tips to make taking a photo easier:

• Use natural sunlight or bright spaces
• Make sure your camera lens is clean and not blurry
• Avoid taking the photo next to a mirror
• Place the item on a clear background; e.g., avoid busy tablecloths, bedding, etc.
• Don't take a photo of yourself or another person or use AI or screenshots
• Only include the item you're selling.

No. You can only use our imagery and descriptions when you use Authentified through your My Account.

As our images and product details are copyrighted, we can't allow these to be used on other platforms.

No. Once you list your item with Authentified, you can't list it anywhere else until it sells or you cancel the listing. This stops a buyer from purchasing an item that hasn't already sold elsewhere. If you'd like to sell it another way, simply cancel your Authentified listing first.
