Plisse Circle Swing Dress in Jewel Green

The jewel green is a great splash of colour. The polyester plisse fabric flows across my various lumpy bits. I bought my usual size 20 which finishes at mid calf on my 161cm height. The plisse pleating is not clingy, and the little capped sleeve is enough to cover the shoulder. I could have sized down, but found the 18 a little tight under the arm. Yes at the moment the fabric feels a little stiff, but I havent worn or washed it yet. This is my Christmas outfit sorted for this year.

This dress is far nicer than you think it will be. The shirring at the top is very flattering. Go down a size. rnAnd I can't find the pockets!

This is an amazing dress. After looking at it on the hanger many times over the weeks, and not trying it on because I didn't think the shirring would flatter my proportions, a sales assistant told me that it really works for my kind of curves, so I gave it a go.rnrnThings you need to know:rn* It has a true full circle skirt. There's a LOT of material. If you're buying this to wear in a windy environment, you may want to think twice, or don some bike shorts and resign yourself to a few Marilyn Monroe moments.rn* FINALLY TS has designed a dress where the top of the dress does not assume a small bust! As a larger-chested woman, many TS dresses don't hang properly on me because of seams that cut across just below the fullest part of my bust, not below all of it. Those designs might work well on a B-cup size14 model, but not for a 22G or 24G customer. This one, however, is a dress FOR ME.rn* Women with my kind of proportions (ribcage considerably smaller than bust) may want to consider sizing down because the top seems to be cut to about the same width at the bust and where the shirring stops at the waist. Sizing down helps give it some shape and (surprisingly) doesn't over-emphasize the bust. You MIGHT even want to try 2 sizes down if you have hourglass-like proportions like mine. I went with just 1 size down, but would have been almost as happy with 2 sizes down, which provided a fit kind of like at least one of the web site photos of the green dress. My normal size just hung straight down, clearly too large for me. I cannot state strongly enough that shirring that you might think will over-accentuate your bust, does not do that at all because unless you size down, it does not even cling anywhere, let alone cling tightly.rn* It really wants to hang straight down from the bust, despite the shirring, because it's so generously cut. That's not ideal for my proportions so even after sizing down, I'm still going to take them in at the sides, tapered down from just below the bust, about 2cm on each side at the waist because I'd prefer the shirring to hug my ribcage more closely rather than standing out from it.rn* I'm 165cm tall, and the length was flattering for me. It looked graceful and the length is in proportion to the fullness of the skirt. It would definitely suit women at least several cm taller than me as well. More petite women would likely find it on the long side, though, and the waist might even fall below their natural waist.rn* The fabric is somewhat thin, but some of my TS dresses over the years have been more see-through. I'll either wear short leggings or a slip dress under them, which will also help with modesty when it's windy out.rnrnIf you're similarly curvy and have avoided eeek! shirring!, I'd really recommend that you give one of these dresses a try, but be prepared to be surprised by the sizing.
