Neckline/shape doesn’t quite work for layering

While I love the look of this dress on the model, I’m not one to wear a dress without sleeves on its own so I layer, and there’s nothing else with a neckline to match it, so it just doesn’t quite work. But it’s a lovely fabric, weight, length and shape everywhere else, so I’ll continue to wear it and see if I can find something that works well with the neckline.

Im 174cm and it comes below the knee. a midi. Have multiple long sleeve and 3/4 sleeve tops of varying materials to give completely different looks... also a few different kinds of Sleevies, especially a black and white strip long sleeve one and a nice soft white shirt. I usually purchase tops on the smaller size to wear as layering for exactly this type of dress. I ordered the 18 after looking at reviews, (im normally an 18-20) and I think either would have fitted perfectly... might even grab the 20 as well.... nice material and styling...

This is a very flattering pinafore and looks great in autumn with a long top underneath. It falls very nicely and gives no back fat or tummy rolls. A very versatile number to have in the closet.
