WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT THIS COLLECTION?

I am in love with the colours! After a summer of lights and brights, I’m really excited about the thought of cooler weather, and the rich red tones in the Cosmic Dusk collection, as well as the beautiful blues.

WE KNOW YOU LOVE DRESSES – WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT THE NEW STYLE DRESSES IN THIS COLLECTION? ANY STYLING TIPS? HOW YOU WOULD WEAR THEM AND WHAT OCCASIONS? ‌

The Blue Tile Pintuck dress is my favourite dress that Taking Shape makes (please keep making them in every print!), with the pintuck detail it’s so gorgeous, and the tie waist is so flattering and versatile. You can bring it in for more shape, or leave it floaty.

The cotton gingham dress is so comfortable and easy to wear, I would wear that everyday, and just be so happy. The chambray button down dress is so versatile too. I do love a denim dress! It’s great for dressing up and down, with sandals in the warmer months, and with knee high boots in winter. It will be getting a workout in my wardrobe.

For anyone that finds fashion challenging, dresses are a great place to start. These three dresses in particular, because of their unique details (the pintuck, the shirring, and then the button down on the chambray dress), mean you’re starting with a really great canvas. You can wear as is, and it can be absolutely enough, or you can start layering with a necklace, a jacket, or even a lightweight scarf.

THE DENIM SKIRT IS A NEW STYLE AND VERSATILE – TELL US ABOUT THE WAYS YOU CAN WEAR IT AND WHAT YOU LOVED ABOUT IT? ‌

My friends and I call this style skirt the ‘mum skirt’ because it’s something our mums would have worn, and we love that it’s come full circle. I squealed when I saw this in the studio because I’ve been hunting one down and couldn’t find it in plus size. It has the perfect level of stretch too, to make it comfortable.

I love denim with white, so I would wear it high waisted, with a white shirt, with a half tuck to show a little bit of waist. In the heart of winter, well Gold Coast winter, I’d wear a black singlet or tee tucked in, with a light coat or jacket over the top, and a necklace or three.

THE PERFECT TRAVEL DRESS

FAVOURITE PIECES?

Don’t make me pick a favourite! But if I had to, I’d have to go with the pintuck detail dress, it’s just a flawless dress, with style longevity. Then the blue tile print, it will just work with my eyes. Plus I have so much travel planned for this year, and this is so easy to toss in my suitcase and not have to stress about it. It travels well and will be coming to Japan with me later this year.
